Hi Parents of our Littlest Flying Fish (our 3 and 4 year olds),

Regarding our time trials and meets for these littles:  The county league has two stipulations for athletes eligibility for swimming in the official meets:  they must be 5 years old by May 31 and they must be able to swim a 25 yard distance unassisted.  We are so happy to have your child on the team and recognize that while they can't yet 'compete' they are on their way. 

In our time trials this Thursday, we will have them showing off their skills (fully assisted by our coaches).  It will be one of several big moments for them in the season.  So even though you will not need to RSVP for these littles, they are encouraged to be there!

For the upcoming meets: some of the teams we will be competing have expressed an interest in doing this type of a 'rookie race' (at the end of warm-ups and before the official events begin) to ensure that these little fish get lots of encouragement. Assume that this will be the case unless you hear differently.  

The mornings following the regular meets is when all athletes receive their ribbons for competing.  We will have 'ribbons' for the little kids too (even if they don't compete the night before).   So please include them with their older siblings in these events as well.
